recieved update package named "guidance-backends,
collection of system administration tools for GNU/linux" update manager
locked up. had to restart.
Checked details of update/as follows:

I am running Ubuntu 8.04 on this desk top, no kde apps installed.
Same update crashed my laptop, manual power off/restart
