Hi, Actually, libgtk2.0-0-dbgsym was already installed when I collected the stacktrace. I looked though the stacktrace and yes, I noticed that there were no debug symbols for the backtrace through the gtk functions. However, I don't know how to remedy this.
To answer your other questions: yes stat /home/.hidden hangs. There are other applications that hang also.
