I have the same problem in Ubuntu 7.10 with Kernel 2.6.22: uname -a Linux dell 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Feb 12 07:42:25 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
I have four 1GB dimms installed. BIOS reports 4GB memory installed. However: cat /proc/meminfo | grep MemTotal MemTotal: 3106444 kB Is there a 'High memory' kernel package or some such that can be installed without requiring the rebuild of the kernel? I am more than happy to go in and recompile, but then everytime a kernel update is released I would need to recompile and I could run into dependancy issues with my Nvidia drivers and such. So it would be highly preferred if there were an officially supported Ubuntu kernel package that offers support for at least 4GB of memory or more. Anyone know if this will be an issue in 8.04 as well? -Jeremy -- Ubuntu kernel doesn't support >=4GB memory https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/74179 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
