Bad news! Can't reproduce when -dbg package of gnome-panel is installed. I am attaching .xsession-errors.
Some more information: This seems to happen only at startup. After the gnome-panel has crashed I am able to restart it by doing the following: sudo killall gnome-panel After the restart, I can no long reproduce the problem. System information: I upgraded from gutsy to hardy beta earlier.
