http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=246647 I don't know if this is the same issue reported here but, according to Jorg Shilling, it seems something related to Linux kernel. Maybe you could try with a newer kernel or with the latest release of cdrtools (located at ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/).
