I've experienced similar problem which A-Sylum has commented before. I'm using
ubuntu 8.04 with recently updated kernel (don't know exact numbering..).
Totem 2.22.1 which comments it's using GStreamer 0.10.18.
In my case, when watching XviD avi with full screen mode, the movie was slower
than the audio.
With VLC Player, It is played with no problem.
With MPlayer, the video won't come out, I can only listen the video.
