A little update. I have been testing Fedora rawhide and noticed that their "nodoka" gtk engine (originally based on murrine, I believe) uses the same fix as I posted in this bug for Ubuntulooks and Murrine (originally found by Andrea Cimitan). The issue with GtkEntry boxes is more complicated and will require cooperation from the Mozilla and GTK folks, so it's out of our hands.
