Public bug reported:
My desktop sits behind a proxy server and I don't have direct network
access.
The gnome weather applet doesn't update, despite my setting up the
correct proxy information in the gnome preferences->network proxy.
I'm not sure if it would help to set "http_proxy for the entire session,
but I also have a laptop which sometimes isn't on that network so it
would be preferable not to have to log in and out, setting env vars when
I go to/from work.
