I have a wusb54gs and I used the how to also. I did have a problem with it not restarting at login. What I did to fix it was to add this line to /etc/rc.local "ifconfig wlan0 up" without the quotes and I have had no problems since. I am using 7.10 with all patches and latest kernel.
