Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
This is a very minor user interface issue. My mailboxes are set up to with the most recent mail at the bottom. When I click on a mailbox because new mail has come in, I generally want to see the newest items. I seem to have a habit (from whence?) of spinning the mouse wheel 'down', with the intent of spooling to the bottom of the window, while the mailbox listing is still being built. I think the default action is to leave the pointer at the last mail viewed. Unfortunately, when I do this, instead of going to the bottom, Evolution resets the origin to the top of the listing, so the result of my mouse wheeling is to set the pointer at some email from a year or two ago. (Yes, it is time to clean out my inbox.) The preferred action when the mouse wheel is spun in this situation would be to place the pointer at the last (most recent) message, or perhaps at the top of the most recent batch of unread messages but that seems harder to do.
