Lars,

Can you just delete the .ardour2 folder in your personnal home folder
(it is a hiden file) ?? I guess it would solve the problem.

It appends for exemple if you open an Ardour2 project created with an
other screen resolution or an older version of Ardour. Sometime, too,
Ardour2 save the window size of last use, etc... It can be a problem of
Gnome theme too, most possible a screen definition problem that render
windows too big in general. (I mean not only the Ardour2 window)

I had a lot of problem like that with previous Ardour2 versions on my
1366x768 laptop screen, since most of the time I record with my laptop
on a firewire hard disk / sound card, then work on the mix on my
1650x1080 workstation screen. Since Ardour2.1 there is no more problem,
but I had too delete hte .ardour2 folder. Most of the time, after
chatting a lot on irc with Ardour2 developpers, the reason and solution
is quite simply.

You will find inclosed a picture of Ardour2 on my latptop screen. You
will see that everything is ok.

Toine
