(cjwatson, ack'ed on using /mnt. I was aware that it was for temporary mountpoints, and thus my inclination to use it, but somehow missed the point about installation programs not using it.)
My concern is that the patch I have proposed would allow the user to catch a bug in the clear_partitions code before it deleted files it should not have, while this would just warn them that it will delete files on some of their partitions and that they should back up important data before continuing. However, I understand the bind I've put us in with respect to this and the difficultly created by changing the translations, and because of this and the fact that we have not received bug reports on the clear_partitions code since we fixed the previous issues, I agree that moving ubiquity/partman-system-unformatted into partman-target for Hardy and introducing my above patch for Intrepid is the best option. If we go this route, we should probably upload a new installation-guide documenting the new template as I imagine such a change will leave those building automated installs scratching their heads. -- freeze exception: clear_partitions warning. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215347 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
