no problem at all if you do that. Thanks for all your work. I realize  
this kind of thing is difficult to track down.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to reproduce this so far -- I'll try again. I  
may wipe the offending partition, since I need the space and I don't  
think I'm getting any more information out of it at the moment.

One other thought I've had is whether this is an amd64 issue? After  
all, hfsprogs has 64-bit issues -- do you know if hfsprogs and the  
kernel driver's source code are related?
