Audacity is one of the best recorders for me, in the same page I saw some
configuration for applications that only support alsa:
http://www.pulseaudio.org/wiki/PerfectSetup#ALSAApplications

Somebody tried this?

I tried but /etc/asound.conf doesn't exist, I tried to make it manually but I'm
not sure how I can test it.
I tried to work with audacity while I'm playing something with other
application after change /etc/asound.conf but It didn't work.

If I have only audacity working without any other player or recorder
audacity works, so for now it's ok for me.
