Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xchat-gnome

I'm using the xmonad window manager, which does automatic tiling of
windows, but also automatically puts 'transient' windows (like file
choosers) in the floating layer so they don't disturb the window layout.
Unfortunately xchat-gnome's network connection and channel list
dialogues get managed like normal windows so they suddenly take up half
the screen when they open. This is probably because they're not marked
as transient.

** Affects: xchat-gnome (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
