The weirdest thing! I upgraded and it just screwed up on me. I fiddled and
fiddled around with it to fix it with no joy. I had previously has
customized a few accelerators in Metacity to do things as shortcuts, but
nothing that should of given me any problems. I looked into gconf and still
didn't see the problem. In the end I moved all my data to a safe place and
deleted my home directory to ensure that I deleted all my Gnome settings,
then moved my data back, and it started working properly. I have know idea
on what caused it. All I know is I never want to see it again. You would be
surprised on how much you can missed the letter 'k' (which worked by the way
in a virtual terminal).
What I would REALLY like to see however and what I think is well overdue in
Gnome is a tool that just fixes Gnome settings when they get screwed up and
does it automatically. Always wanted one of those, make life so much easier.

Thanks, you can now close this bug.
