I did not add enough about my set up in the last post. I am using an old computer as a hardware firewall and DHCP server. The Network Settings (network-admin) was getting the incorrect values from my DHCP server. Once I fixed that DNS server IP addresses on my DHCP server the issue of "lost location" was not causing me DNS setting headaches.
HOWEVER, Network Settings still does not show a value in "Location". It would be useful for the Network Settings to indicate that the setting have come from an outside source. This would then cause less confusion as to why the location is not set.
