When you installed the restricted drivers (e.g. for an nVidia graphicsd card), it will installed a precompiled module that serves as an interface between the nVidia drivers and the linux kernel. This precompiled module will only work with the kernel for which it was compiled. If you later upgrade your kernel to another version, you will have to update your precompiled modules with the new kernel's equivalent, or else these modules will not load and when GDM starts it will nag you with a screen that says "Low Graphics..." blah blah.
Did you install the linux-restricted-modules for your kernel version? Is your kernel a custom kernel or an ubuntu release? -- [Hardy kernel 15] Graphics card not recognized https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215162 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
