Toshiba A100-543 Model No : PSAA9L Phoenix BIOS v 1.80 None of the function keys work.
My main issue is I am unable to control the LCD brightness. I can't even read or write to the /proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCD/brightness file. Have tried everything, but just cannot get the brightness to be adjusted. Have toyed with the idea of upgrading the BIOS (think latest version is 5.60), but not sure if that will cause new problems. If someone can report if upgrading BIOS enabled them to fix brightness, might consider it.
