Public bug reported:

I've a IBM T43p laptop running up to date Edgy (as of 2006-10-10). I've
noticed that with this laptop I can suspend and resume the laptop once
just fine, but when I suspend the laptop the second time, it doesn't
wake up. It powers on the screen just fine as I can see that the
backlight has turned on, and some disk activity occurs, but I can't
interact with the machine. Using Ctrl-Alt-Fkey does not allow me to
switch to a terminal and enter in commands to reboot the laptop either.

I believe this is a bug with ACPI, but I'm not knowledgeable enough
about all this to debug it myself.

** Affects: acpi (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
