I've just updated to the latest kernel ( 2.6.24-15-generic #1 SMP )
(linux-image-2.6.24-15-generic and linux-ubuntu-
modules-2.6.24-15-generic packages) and I'm still not getting sound.
Not sure if this is relevant, but in gutsy (2.6.22-14), the
/lib/modules/2.6.22-14-rt/kernel/sound/ directory has the following:
