Public bug reported: My Thinkpad T61p did have wireless after installing 7.10. The installation worked fine.
I hooked the Thinkpad up to a wired connection, and now the wireless information is missing from System -> Administration -> Network I also have taken all available updates through update manager, as they have become available. This is what is in /etc/network/interfaces auto lo iface lo inet loopback I had to set interfaces to this, so Network Manager would work properly with regular wireless and VPN. To get wireless to come back, I've tried restarting the network without the eth0 plugged in. Here's some output: lspci | grep Wireless 03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN Network Connection (rev 61) ~$ iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. What do I need to do to restore wireless? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Thinkpad T61p Looses Wireless https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210952 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
