Scan -> PDF does NOT work (intermittent), but Scan -> PNM -> Import Image -> PDF DOES work (seems to be consistent). I just realized that the --debug output I captured and posted earlier was cut off, I guess because of forking that gscan2pdf does. I'll try to just use copy/paste from a terminal window to capture all the output, but right now I can't get the blank page error to happen.
