Hi, thanks for reporting this bug. In order to solve this issue some further 
information is needed. Therefore could you please perform the following steps:
1. Close ekiga completely (so that the icon in the panel disappears)
2. Install libopal with the terminal command  "sudo apt-get install 
libopal-2.2-ptrace" (this is needed so that ekiga outputs useful debugging 
information)
3. Run ekiga from the terminal with the following command: "ekiga -d 4 > 
output.txt 2>&1"
4. Do a phone call as usual until the sound disappears.

After that you may close ekiga again. In the file output.txt there is all the 
information needed to find out more about the problem.
For privacy reasons you may want to remove your telephone number and ip-address 
from the output.txt file. Just use a text editor like gedit and search/replace 
your number.

Afterwards please attach this file to this bug report.
