Gene, The package that's believed to fix this bug has already been uploaded to the archive, and indeed is already present on the daily liveCD builds present here:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ So far I don't believe we have anyone else testing prism54; my understanding is that this is an older and relatively uncommon chipset.
