I'm not sure I can agree with the assignment of a duplicate bug 39294 as the switching of displays occurs on the server not on the thinclients. Sorry for confusing the semantics. I looked at the bug report you mentioned and I am not running usplash inthe thinclients and found no sign at all of the init scripts that were suggested to be changed. Still puzzled.
