I duplicated this with 207299, but with more info. The screen also does not display characters upon logout, but cursor is always placed where it should be, so key entry "in the blind" is possible. Only a reboot restores the visible display.
There is a workaround. Log into the system (an Everex Koolu/FIC Ion A603 in my case).
