According to http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=470066,
dated 17th March,

"We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of
cacti" ... cacti_0.8.7b-1.1.

As regards "ucf" is this now fixed?

So what do we need to do to get a installable cacti in Hardy?
- get a newer upsteam version of cacti
- or ucf, or just comment out the ucf
- or adapt /var/lib/dpkg/info/cacti.postinst (if i understand, commenting the
ucf line works)?

The hardy release is close and I'm never to Ubuntu packaging/processes,
I'd appreciate any hints.

Myself, I had to do the following on both 7.10 and 8.04 beta to get cacti
working
(See 'Invalid PHP_SELF Path' http://forums.cacti.net/post-130180.html)
  vi /etc/cacti/apache.conf
        #Alias /cacti /usr/share/cacti/site

   cd /var/www
   ln -s /usr/share/cacti/site cacti
   /etc/init.d/apache2 reload

So perhaps the line:
   ucf /usr/share/doc/cacti/cacti.apache.conf /etc/cacti/apache.conf
is no good anyway?
