Found a temporary solution that uses the gnome-volume-manager. I have
made a script only containing the line gnome-volume-manager and put it
in:

~/.kde/Autostart

Now both my Maxtor disk and iPod are mounted on boot up. But I still get
the error in Disk & Filesystems module:

The module Disk & Filesystems could not be loaded.

The diagnostics is:

Possible Reasons:
* An error occured during your last KDE upgrade leaving an orphaned control
module
* You have old third party modules lying around
