Binary package hint: gdm
Once I enter my login credentials. The screen blinks before I get the
desktop. The blinking starts with a plain light brown colored screen
which turns black, then turns brown again and then comes the desktop.
When the desktop shows up the panels have a strange appearance with red
cross bars before the proper panels show up.
