"What happens if you try to mount the location with gvfs-mount (consult
--help)."

I tried to mount using gvfs-mount and got an error stating that gvfs-bin was
not installed. I installed gvfs-bin and giolib.
I am now able to mount using gvfs-mount.
$gvfs-mount -l
Mount(0): sftp on caracol.ohsu.edu -> sftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/
After a delay I am now able to browse the mount point on the destop using
Nautilus. However browsing to a specific directory by issuing
sftp://server/directory in Nautilus fails. After issuing this command Nautilus
crashes and the gnome panel locks up. Apport did not pick up the crash.
