In reaction to Adair: I'm confused by what you mean: 1. If the usplash screen is shut off in your case, and you still got a white screen then this is apparently not a bug of usplash. 2. If the usplash screen does not disappear when shutting it off in menu.lst, then I think you've got somehow a configuration error, as result of your boot configuration or maybe as result off historical reasons (installation over installation).
So I am in doubt if this is a usplash bug. I think somehow changing the graphic mode potentially makes (or made in older versions?) the system hang. Maybe it's not usplash itself but some graphical driver somewhere (or the graphicscard?). Anyway the problem should be fixed. -- [kubuntu edgy and feisty] usplash_down causes shutdown to hang https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/71004 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
