1)My platform is amd64. I've upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy beta. After the rebooting my computer hung up on """Begin: Waiting for root file system... ...""" I pressed "reset" and booted old kernel 2.6.22-14, then i run "sudo update-initramfs -k all -u" as a result the problem was fixed(2.6.24 now working fine).
2)Investigation: I decompress two file initrd.img-2.6.24-12-generic and initrd.img-2.6.24-12-generic.bak.
