I've also been having this problem trying to use virt-manager on Hardy (updated as of this morning 22/03). Searching around I found this post http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=2516 which indicated a problem with dbus security and provides a patch for /usr/share/virt- manager/virtManager/connection.py
I adapted and applied the patch to connection.py and now have "eth0 (Bridge: br0)" in the drop down when I configure a virtual machine.
