You are right. This sync would cause problems but we can easily avoid this with syncing libauthen-passphrase-perl 0.005-3 from Debian (that would be a normal sync without FFe). To answer your question about why we want it into hardy. I looked at the upstream changelog and thought that there are some handy fixes. Besides that our version is a year old and I thought maybe some users want to see an update. But I can understand you if you don't agree with me.
