Hi,
On Hardy, setting the gtk_key_theme gconf entry to "Emacs" allows to use some
useful shortcut in lots of entry widget, yet it disables any Gnome Accelerator,
which makes some applications almost useless. For example, in gedit, Alt-F
shifts the cursor from one word to the right, so i have no way to open the
"File" menu from the keyboard.
This seems to be a recent behaviour, as i changed my gtk_key_theme entry to
Emacs for ages before (in order to get Ctrl-U/K in Firefox entrybar in fact)
