Okz, here we go... ;) rhythmbox:
~$ rhythmbox --version GNOME rhythmbox 0.11.4.90 file to play: (in the attahment) ~/Music/Slayer/God Hates Us All$ file 08\ -\ Seven\ Faces.mpc 08 - Seven Faces.mpc: Musepack audio, SV 7.0, quality 8 (BrainDead), Release 1.1 Procedure to reproduce the error: a) We need two machines with rhytmbox installed. (In my case I have one with Ubuntu hardy 64bits and one Debian 64 bits unstable.) . Check that you have installed all the gstreamer plugins (good, bad, ugly, ugly-multiverse...). A quick way to do it is installing the metapackage ubuntu restricted extras. b) Start rhytmbox in both machines from the command line (to see the output) c) Add the attached file in the rhytmbox (or any other .mpc file) music library of both machines. d) Try to play that file in both machines. It should be ok. e) Enable the DAAP music share plugin in both rhythmbox instances. At these point you will be able to see the library of the other rhytmbox instance. f) Try to play the same file, from the music shared by the other machine. g) The error message in the command line and the dialog boxes explained before should appear. It's these ok? If you need something else, just ask.
