I can confirm that this is not a duplicate of bug 200338. I don't see
symbol errors in the kernel messages, and it didn't work with kernel
2.6.24-11 neither.

My motherboard is an  Asus P5B Deluxe wifi, which should contain a
AD1988B chip.
