I know it takes a little time to count the files on the filesystem. But in this case the counting never stops, it just adds and adds the file count and size totally unrealistically. And the cpu keeps working in C0-state with the kernel IPI rescheduling interrupts. It stops only when i shut the filesystem properties window.
