Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
Setup: Dell Vostro 1500, Core 2 Duo Installed Hardy alpha 6, KDE4 To save someone 5 minutes of head scratching, I'll repeat: that's KDE4, not KDE3. However, looking through the /etc/init.d/kdm script, I see references to kde3, so not sure ... Konquerer->About reports 4.0.2, but that's /etc/init.d/kdm, not kdm-kde4. I'm confused. Symptom: top reports kdm as using 99% of a cpu core, system fan turns on, noise annoys Not sure how to reproduce, but I noticed it after researching/preparing https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase-workspace/+bug/204136 . This bug may also be related to the xorg Alt+Tab bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase- workspace/+bug/198524). Don't know, kdm vs xorg. Expected behavior: with no heavy graphical activity, kdm should drop to almost 0% cpu/core utilization. ** Affects: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- kde4 kdm uses 100% of a cpu core https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204147 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
