This bug seems to be closer to a question about how to get the card working than it is about easy installation. The issue here is that unfortunately, Linksys hasn't helped the linux kernel developers create drivers for this wireless card, and the best that the kernel devs have come up with so far just isn't enough. So the only way to get the working wireless card is by using ndiswrapper, which makes a windows driver work on Linux. There's no easy solution to this bug, which everyone who owns the card has. I'm sure that the kernel developers are well aware that this card doesn't fully function on native linux, and are working hard to rectify this.
Until that happens, the question is how to install the card using ndiswrapper. Doing a quick google search, I was able to find this forum post that helps you install the card: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=516649 It would probably be a good idea to read through a lot of the thread and get an idea for how well it works before trying it yourself. Good luck though! ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Invalid ** bug changed to question: https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/27497 -- Linksys WUSB54GC no easy installation!!! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204094 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
