Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. In order to figure out
what happened we need some more information. The trace above mentions
kubuntu 7.10. Were you trying to upgrade from 7.04 to 7.10 or from 7.10
to Hardy?
Also could you please attach the logfiles from /var/log/dist-upgrade.
