Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ftp-ssl
When the ftp-ssl client connects to an ftp server with SSL/TLS only on the control channel, not the data channel, then only the control channel works. This is particularly a problem with the pure-ftpd server, which provides SSL/TLS for only the control channel. It's not a problem if "-z nossl" is specified - but then it isn't used for the control channel either. Since it's much more important to secure the control channel than the data channel; and since many sites prefer not to secure the data channel due to the encryption overhead, this is an unfortunate bug - it throws no error. It just doesn't fully work. This is with 7.10, and ftp-ssl 0.17.12+0.2-6build1 ** Affects: netkit-ftp-ssl (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ftp client fails when only control channel is ssl https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/203280 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
