Since new packages affect archive admins and the overall release (due to
archive admin workload) I asked the Ubuntu release manager what he thought
and this is the answer I got:

[12:37] <slangasek> ScottK2: well, my feeling is that it would be nice to have
some follow-through on things like bug #183021, #183015, #183017 before
piling in new packages...
[12:37] <ubotwo> Launchpad bug 183021 in
sugar-datastore "package-installs-python-pyc" [High,Confirmed]
https://launchpad.net/bugs/183021
[12:37] <ubotwo> Launchpad bug 183015 in
sugar-presence-service "python-script-but-no-python-dep" [Medium,Confirmed]
https://launchpad.net/bugs/183015
[12:37] <ubotwo> Launchpad bug 183017 in
sugar-datastore "python-script-but-no-python-dep" [Medium,Confirmed]
https://launchpad.net/bugs/183017

So I'd be inclined so suggest come back and ask again once the current
packages are fixed up.
