I can confirm this bug. I have 17GB of files on my server that I like to copy to my Desktop or Laptop from my server. I use samba for this. It always fails 100% of the time. Previous to Hardy, I've always been able to do this.
Steps on how I reproduce: 1.) I have 17GB of files stored on my server. (Mostly pictures, anime movies, and songs). 2.) In the destination computer, I go to Places then Network. 3.) I browse to the computer hosting my files. 4.) I rightclick the folder that I want to copy and click copy. 5.) I rightclick the destination folder and click paste. 6.) A good portion of the files will copy, but after a while it will completely fail. (Maybe within 10 minutes). 7.) This happens 100% of the time for me. 8.) After it fails, it won't let me copy any further files from the source. I must reboot, or I lose this functionality completely. Desired results: The files should have copied without fail. It has always worked for me before on all previous Ubuntu releases I have used, copying from the exact same server to the exact same destinations. This is a CRUCIAL bug! I think it should be mission critical for Hardy. (All my PC's are running Hardy). -- nautilus fails to copy large amount of files trough network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197136 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
