I've done a fresh install of Alpha6 from CD.
Intel 3945 NOT recognized.
Updated the system using wired connection.
Intel 3945 STILL NOT recognized.

I've checked and I have linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24 installed.
locate iwl3945.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.24-11-generic/ubuntu/wireless/iwlwifi/iwlwifi/compatible/iwl3945.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.24-12-generic/ubuntu/wireless/iwlwifi/iwlwifi/compatible/iwl3945.ko

lspci says:
10:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network
Connection (rev 02)

ifconfig says:
wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:19:d2:11:b4:8e
          UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)

However it doesn't work and no drivers in the restricted drivers box.
