Henri, I have managed to find that in SCIM in Hardy, you can "swap" Unicode entry in using the SCIM toggle layout hotkey. The input method's name is “raw code”, and I have mapped my input method toggle to Ctrl+` (Control+dead grave, for the us-intl layout), so that I can type C-`2014<space>C-` and enter “—”.
