Care to make sure all your sound levels are unmuted and turned up? ALSA
1.0.16 mutes some sound levels by default. If the issue still exists,
care to attach the output of running the alsa-info.sh script which is
availabel here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems .
