please run firefox like:
strace -f -eopen firefox-3.0 &> /tmp/strace.1.log
and attach the strace.1.log when reproducing the long startup time
for the crash case, please look if you have a firefox-3.0 .crash file in
the /var/crash folder and submit a new bug by double clicking on it.
