Just want to confirm that there are problems with 'intel' as a driver in Gutsy. I've changed xorg.conf manually (and also with dpkg-reconfiugre xserver-xorg) and screen gets abnormal refresh rates set by driver (completely ignoring those set in xorg.conf). To compare my situation with manual settings with fresh installation I've started Kubuntu 7.10 Desktop CD (live) and... there was an 'intel' driver in xorg.conf but resolution of screen got stuck an 640x480. Changing screen resolution gives no effect at all (just an message "Do you want to keep this resolution" shows on the screen but completely nothing else happens).
May this can be caused by monitor? But I don't think so...
